This 2023 the critic and writer Mike Desimone, publishes and signs in the American magazine Wine Enthusiast in the Cellar Edition section, the review of Ròmia 2018.
Ròmia 2018 is the first vintage on the market, moreover, it has been recognized with 94 points by one of the most influential magazines in the wine sector. This is the highest score obtained by a wine from Pla de Bages in the international magazine Wine Enthusiast.
Ròmia is a wine that pays tribute to the first heiress of the family, who exercised her leadership from 1281 to 1308. This label is a recognition of the commitment and strength of all the women who have led past generations of the Oller.
It is a blend of Carinyena, Garnatxa, Mandó, Sumoll and Picapoll Negre with a minimum aging of 12 months in bottle in the cellar, this wine is a clear expression of our land and landscape.
The author’s full description notes the following:
” Inky garnet to the eye, this wine has aromas of blackberry, purple plums, anise seed and dried marjoram. A framework of opulent tannins slowly builds, supporting flavors of dark fruits of the wood, butterscotch, baking spices, orange zest and a light floral note that remains on the palate. Drink through 2033.”
The prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine is the first time that scores the Ròmia, and the other wines of the winery, which we continue to work day after day to be a benchmark of indigenous wines and with identity in the world.
