Oller del Mas forms part of the Designation of Origin Pla de Bages, a beautiful area set near the mountains of Montserrat and the Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç de Munt i l’Obac.
Pla de Bages has had a wine-making tradition since time immemorial. In fact, some historians maintain that the name Bages comes from the Latin Bacchus, the Roman god of wine.
Today, it is one of the strongest emerging DOs. It keeps its native varietals and this, together with the relatively harsh climate, low rainfall and clay-loam soil, means that it can produce excellent wine permeated with the balsamic notes of lavender and thyme, two aromatic plants that are found throughout the woods that surround the vineyards.
