Oller del Mas forms part of the Designation of Origin Pla de Bages, a beautiful area set near the mountains of Montserrat and the Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç de Munt i l’Obac.

Pla de Bages has had a wine-making tradition since time immemorial. In fact, some historians maintain that the name Bages comes from the Latin Bacchus, the Roman god of wine.

100% organic

At Oller del Mas we have chosen to produce our wine organically and have been certified by the Catalan Council for Ecological Agrarian Production (CCPAE). We use no chemical substances and believe only in the sensible and controlled use of organic fertilisers. We do not use herbicides or pesticides; instead we use green fertilisers and organic compost. In addition, Oller del Mas is carbon footprint certified and is the top-ranking wine estate in Catalonia and the third in the whole world when it comes to the lowest carbon emissions (0.7 grammes per litre).

The strength and identity of a unique terroir

Our estate has 600 hectares of cultivated land and woodland. And 60 of these hectares are vineyards. We want to preserve the identity of the local area and have made great efforts to reinstate our local grape varietals. Fine varietals such as Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon co-exist with native varietals like Piquepoul Blanc, Piquepoul Noir and the traditional Mandó, Malvasia Manresana, Samsó and Macabeu.
